Today is the opening of the semi-annual #independent #performingarts , #culture, #food and #sustainability #festival #Tollwood in #Munich. The #summerfestival with walking acts, installations, (#organic) food stalls, concerts (most of them free), workshops, #artisans' market and more in #Olympiapark will end July, 16th. Open on weekdays 14-1, on weekends 11-1.

Another example for the #biennalearchitettura2023's attempts to mitigate its #climate impact can be found on the menus of the on-site #cafes: three dishes marked as #carbon-neutral. Why not all? Why not a single #organic dish, no organic #fairtrade'd #coffee (which would make a difference for an event of this size)? A single organic softdrink was on display, as everything else in a #one-way #plastics bottle. Even the coffee is served in throw-away paper cups covered w/ plastics. Disappointing.

Unfortunately there won't be a positive update to https://www.organictraveller.de/organictraveller-venice-icecream : #Venice has always been a place w/ few #organic food places, and I haven't been able to find a single new entry to the #organictraveller 's #travelguide to #Venezia this year. The only organic #icecream in town I know of comes from #French #franchise #Amorino, what a shame...

#Zerowaste #supermarkets are facing hard times, notably those established in the beginning of the #COVID19 pandemics. Many of them are forced to close now, among them the one in #Munich's neighbourhood of #Haidhausen I've been frequenting weekly for the past years, and the one in #Erding. What's going to happen to the #supermarkets of the #organic #supermarket chain #Basic w/ shops in South Germany (most in #Munich) and #Austria: All shops (at least in #Germany) are being taken over by the conventional supermarket chain #TeGut, making the latter a nation-wide player. Most shops are going to be converted into regular TeGut branches, starting in August 2023. Negotiatons on whether a few locations (three?) are to be continued as fully organic supermarkets are ongoing.

The #Don's #diningcar on the #Railjet #train to #Vienna / #Bratislava offers an assortment of #organic items: one vegetarian and one meat-based main course (spicy rmushroom potato roast and paprika chicken, resp.), a #goulash meat stew, assorted cheese, prepackaged honey and rice wafers, fruit juice and smoothies, tea, one type of each, beer and wine.
There's no fully organic #breakfast, but butter, jam, cereals and honey are.

#XMasTomatoes! This #tomato plant (raised from seeds taken from an #organic #tomato) had too many green fruits when it got too cold on the balcony. Although the fruits have not been notably bigger indoor since, they will be ripe in time for #boxingday #brunch.
